Abel Dlamini CA (SA)
CEO

 

Abel Dlamini is the CEO at DAS, he is a member of South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (“SAICA”), The Institute of Internal Auditors (SA) (“IIA (SA)”) as well as the Public Accountants and Auditors Board.

The portfolio of clients boasts the likes of Transnet, SAA, PRASA and Blue IQ to mention a few.

Abel was appointed by the Master of the High Court in the North West, together with two attorney’s practising insolvency, as the judicial manager of this public transport parastatals and has been administrator of many platinum tribes in the North West Province. 

It ran the public commuter transport mainly in the North west Province and the western parts of Gauteng (cross border).

The mandate in terms of the Companies Act was to turnaround the company both for the purpose of creditors and to achieve the return for the shareholder. Over the period of 4 years, the paratastal had been returned to sustainable profitability and is one of the successful judicial management achievements.

 

 

 

 

Busi Dlamini BCom (Auditing)
COO


Busi Dlamini,serves as the Chief Operations Officer at DAS Pty Ltd, an audit practice that focuses on auditing, forensic investigations, and business turnaround. She has a BComm degree from the University of Durban Westville. She majored in Auditng, Accounting, Economics and Industrial Psychology. She has vast experience in forensic auditing and business turnaround.

Her career started by assuming the position of theTreasury Accountant at Sapref International, a petrol refinery owned by Shell and BP. She moved on and was appointed as an assistant Branch Manager at one of SA major banks. She is also the CEO of Busi Dlamini Developments Pty Ltd a company she founded seven years ago.

She furthered her career and was appointed the Assistant Administrator of many platinum tribes in the North West Province reporting to the Premier. Each tribe had a cash base of about half a billion rand. She was responsible for managing the companies, making decisions on investments.
She founded Abel and Busi Dlamini Foundation, a charity organization that she manages and which pays for one university student’s full school fees, accommodation and books per year and also school fees for about 20 needy high school learners per year. She also dedicates a lot of her time tutoring accounting to high school learners for free.
She also led auditing teams in various companies, where she focused on Financial Management and Auditing.
She is a member of Institute of Internal Auditors ,IIA (SA).
She is currently a Board member and an Audit committee member at Field Band Foundation.

 

 

 

Thandi Msomi BCom (Accounting)

Associate Director


Thandi Msomi completed her articles at Arthur Andersen and later joined Sekela in 2005 till October 2010, where she was an Internal Audit Manager. 
Amongst her projects, she performed for Sekela together with Ernst and Young the Transnet Internal Audit Project from September 2005 to March 2007.
The Transnet Internal audit work included performing internal audit for most of the non core business units like National Ports Authority, Transnet Housing, Freight Dynamics, Propnet, Esselen Park school of Excellence, Viamax and Autopax.  She also performed audit work at core business units like Transnet Corporate and Spoornet

In March 2007, Thandi was part of the team that was involved with the development of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERM) for the SABC.  She played the role of an assistant to the Project Manager.
Thandi managed various clients portfolio within Internal Audit and Business Consulting.  These clients include the Agricultural Research Council, Umsobomvu Youth Fund, National Union of Mine Workers, Mpumalanga Department of Housing, Tshwane University of Technology, South African National Intelligence, National Nuclear Regulator and the Department of Arts and Culture and the Department of Arts and Culture.
She has also attended training on Enterprise Risk Management Barnowl which was later rolled at an audit firm.
She moved to Dlamini Advisory Services (Pty) Ltd (DAS) in October 2010 as an Internal Audit Manager.  Since joining DAS, she has mainly performed forensic investigations for various clients.
